Benevenutus, Imolensis (1338-1390)
Il nucleo principale del manoscritto della certosa di Basilea è costituito da una copia del Flores temporum, una cronaca del mondo latina del XIII secolo ampiamente diffusa nella regione alemannica. Il copista Nicolaus Gerung de Blauenstein ha integrato questa cronaca con un'appendice da lui redatta, in parte in tedesco, riguardante gli eventi nella regione di Basilea, così come una cronaca dei vescovi basileesi. Completano la collezione testi più brevi, quali trattati sui concili o sugli ordini certosini, elenchi di imperatori, cattedrali, regni e lingue di varie parti del mondo.

Copiato nel 1378 da Francesco di maestro Tura da Cesena, che appone data e nome alla fine del suo volume, il Codice Severoli inaugura ciascuno dei tre canti della Commedia con una iniziale istoriata. Qualche glossa interlineare spiega i versi del Paradiso.

Il Romuleon, compilazione latina anonima di testi di storia romana, è attribuito a Benvenuto da Imola. Realizzato in Francia verso il 1440, il CB 143 fu trascritto probabilmente durante la vita del re Carlo VII, rappresentato al f° 6v. L'inizio di ciascun libro di tale raccolta è messo in risalto da miniature raffinate.
