Collation:
Quire signatures (some in red) run from II (p. 31) to VI (p. 95); mostly quaterniones, with the exception of pp. 208-227 (quinio), and pp. 370-379 (ternio). (Bruckner)
Condition: Strong, well made and smoothed parchment; flesh side is white, hair side is yellowish with visible pores and brown spots, a few holes. HFHF. Drypoint ruling, sometimes invisible, before folding.
Page layout:
Two columns, 31 lines per. Each column measures 10.3-10.7 (8.1-9) x 25.2-25.3 cm. (Bruckner)
Writing and hands: Beautiful, clear and wide minuscule of the Grimald period, that is, c. 841-872. Rust-brown to black ink. Titles in red rustics. Red initial on p. 2 (Bruckner)
Binding:
Binding in dark brown smooth leather, with the back having been replaced s. XV or XVI. No frets, two original closures are now replaced by a modern leather buckle with brass plates, and a brass pin on the front cover. Original paste-down at the front, but in the rear we find a paper replacement. Spine contents note (s. XIX): S. Augustini contra Faustum Manichoeum.
